- Hey, I’m still here!
Yes I am.
- I am still alive.
I swear I am. Time to turn this into a constructive output.
- Blah
This needs an update. Doh!
- Updates!
Alright. I know I haven’t updated my website for a long time. I’m sorry. There have been many things going on in my busy life that have been distractions to my love of this site. The first, as you may know, is that I am in the middle of a move to Japan. And boy, let me tell you. This is the biggest pain in my ass ever. I am the type of person that stresses out over stuff like this. Moving. Where are my things? Is my flight going to be on-time? Is the government going to change my flight for me? Will I be stranded somewhere? Will the airlines loose my luggage? I have many updates on the process that I will fill you in over the next few days.
Secondly, my mother started me on WeightWatchers Online. I’ve been doing the online program for exactly one week today and I’ve already lost 4 pounds. The secret of the program isn’t in the direct approach to food and exercise, but the indirect approach. I am doing more conscious thinking of my food choices, eating habits, and work out routines. I weighed in at 198. I’m currently at 194, and I’m real motivated to keep it going down. I have a short term target weight of 175 lbs. What that means to me is that this is the weight I want to start to get fit at, vice get in shape. The way I see it, this is me currently getting back in shape. At one point in my life, I was in great shape. (heh, this was only 2 1/2 years ago.) At one point, I even ran a marathon. Oh, those were the days…and I’m hopefully headed back there.
In case you haven’t seen or heard me whoring myself out enough, I have a flickr website. I have been putting some regular updates of my days on there. Some involve the move too, so please, check it out!
Take is easy.
- Some vids.
This is a video I snapped with my Nikon D90 at the Oceana Air Show. It has been compressed, so some quality is lost.

It’s about time I jumped on that band wagon. You can find my recent photos from my new D90 here. (www.flickr.com/photos/rkarpowicz)
Here is video footage shot from the D90.
- Well, more research.
I know I’ve been full of talk lately about the Canon 50D. Well, after doing more research and re-evaluating my budget, I bought a Nikon D90. I’ll post my review of it soon, but I must say it is awesome. I am heading to the Oceana Naval Air show this Sunday, the 21st. I’ll be sure to post the pictures here.
- Canon 50D Release
Circuit City has announced (on their website) the release date of the 50D : October 6. I plan on buying one with the 18-200mm kit lens.
- The Falling Man
I found this old Esquire Article while reading about the 9/11 terrorist attacks. If you remember this day as clearly as I do, then you might remember the pictures of people falling / jumping from the WTC Towers as they burned. I saw this on TV at the time. The images were quite shocking. This article is a great remembrance to that day.
Do you remember this photograph? In the United States, people have taken pains to banish it from the record of September 11, 2001. The story behind it, though, and the search for the man pictured in it, are our most intimate connection to the horror of that day.
